The Ministry of Provincial Councils & Local Government, which is
wholeheartedly committed for the Provision of a sound regional administrative
system responsive to the aspiration of the people of the country, continues to
occupy the centre stage in district administration through the co-ordination of
District Secretariats and Divisional Secretariats. This important mission
necessitates the promotion of the organizational culture of the district
administrative and divisional administrative bodies and ensuring of the service
delivery to the community. Making devolution and decentralization work well has
become a national priority today.
